Lionel Messi fever shows no sign of coming to an end anytime soon in the United States after the Inter Miami star followed up winning the Leagues Cup with his new team by leading them into the final of the US Open Cup, in which they will face Houston Dynamo at DRV PNK Stadium on Tuesday 26 September.
Messi set to make MLS debut in New York
Next on the horizon for the Argentina captain is his MLS debut, which is expected to take place on Saturday (26 August) when The Herons visit New York Red Bulls. Still sitting bottom of the Eastern Conference and the overall standings due to their awful pre-Messi form, Inter Miami will hope to transfer their cup form to the league.
It was recently reported that tickets for the match were going for in excess of $23,000, something that could never have been imagined before the former Barça star joined the Florida club. Many fans, not wanting to miss out on the chance of seeing one of soccer’s all-time greats in the flesh, were less than impressed.
