Star power doesn’t translate to high ratings

The Pro Bowl is a friendly game that does not usually produce a lot of big hits, as teams do not want their best players to end up with injuries. TV ratings for the game are lower than regular season NFL games, because the all-star matchups are not viewed as high-quality.

Despite the seeming lack of interest among fans, being chosen to play is considered an honor and a great achievement for a professional football athlete.
